Hi All,

Firstly, once again we hope that you are all keeping safe and well.

You will probably have heard the various suggestions/rumours around potential dates when some sort of relaxation of restrictions on playing golf are likely to be announced.

We agree that golf is likely to be amongst the first activities considered for release of the lockdown conditions and England Golf has issued a guidance document which would almost certainly form the framework of such a move. It is all about how golf can be managed SAFELY for both golfers and staff and would need to be strictly adhered to.

How is that likely to affect us?

Well, primarily we need to manage the flow of people. That is going to mean compulsory booking of tee times and access to the course ONLY via the 1st Tee (absolutely no sneaking on at the 7th, 9th etc)

It is accepted that tee times will probably be at 10 minute intervals to maintain the social distancing and, as it is likely that they can be a maximum of two-balls, there will be a high demand at peak times. It has not yet been decided how/when tees can be booked but make sure that you have your BRS Login details available.

Access to the course will be strictly marshalled and there will be a “no tee time- no play” policy. No visitors/non-members will be allowed.

No mingling in the car park, Pro’s shop or around the tee will be allowed and having played we will regrettably have to leave the club immediately. Absolutely no socialising on the patio or anywhere else.

The Locker Rooms and Trolley Shed will almost certainly be out of action so if you need to gain access to your clubs/trolley please contact the Secretary to arrange a time to do so.
The Board of directors is meeting regularly to by video-conference review the situation and we are all hopeful that the Prime Ministers announcements on Sunday will provide the first steps to our recommencement of golf, we will update you all again as soon as we have some further information.

In the meantime, Ian and Paul are doing a sterling job on doing as much essential maintenance work on the course as they can and Nicky is available in the office to deal with all queries.

Thank you all in advance for your cooperation and consideration for the staff and other members.

Best Regards,

Phil Morris
On Behalf of the Board
